So things around the Olsen house have been pretty spectacular!

It has been so nice having Justin around more and just enjoying Ozzy.

He is getting so big! I can't even believe that he will be 2 in March.

Here is just a little catch up. If you didn't know.... now ya do.. I'm pregnant and expecting in May.

I have been pretty under the weather and sitting on the computer is the last thing on my mind when I have a free minute. But the good news is that I am feeling better everyday and so.... here is your update!

i love those piercing blue eyes, even when they are sad and tired.
i love that you put your little arms around my leg and want me to hold you.
i love how fast you say "all done"
i feel so lucky that you wake up happy and talk in your crib until i am ready to come get you.
i love that you walk to the back door, look in the back yard and say "daddy, daddy" because that is where he usually is.
You are fascinated with lights.. turning them on and off and again and again.
i laughed really hard when you found the nail clippers and pretended that they were a harmonica (they kind of look like it right?)... and walked around making your own noises.
i love it when a random man looks at you in the grocery store and calls you a "lady killer" i have to agree
you DO know how to pucker those big lips.

justin had another job this last weekend in winter park colorado.

we went along with him.

and so did the mcQueens

we stayed for free, rode bikes, played on the playground, went on walks

watched bikers go really big, watched Ozzy, Ollie and Stevie just be kids

all in the best company!
some people think that we are crazy taking our kids...
i think that we are just making some awesome memories!

We are back from Canada.. Justin's slide show was amazing. The show sold out 2 days in advance and that has never happened before. It was premiered to about 2,000 people. They held it at an amazing event hall, where there where 4 screens. No matter where you sat it was a great show. Their were 6 photographers and they had 3 days, with a team of riders to shoot and edit. (and not to mention the conditions were rainy and muddy) At the show they did a short introduction on each of them and then had the photographer come introduce their show. Justin's show was number 5, after the 4th show my heart was racing and I had butterflies for him. I am so proud of him, and his poise and confidence throughout the entire introduction and the show. He didn't place in the competition, I'm obviously a little bias.. But, he has already sold some shots from the show and a magazine is going to do an article on his team and the event. I love you Justin and I am so proud of you!

While being in one of the biggest Mtn Biking Resorts in the world, we were able to ride for one day, which was not enough.. but I was the happiest lady around.

While we were away, I got this picture from grandma Sue.. I guess he wasn't missing us!

This week feels like it has been a whirlwind. Ozzy and I drove to pick Justin up from the river, he did awesome in the car.. 5 hours. We stayed the night and drove back the next day. Another 5 hours. Quick trip, right? But it was worth it!

Summer is flying by, I hate the day that I walk into Target and back to school accessories are on the shelf. It means that it's coming to an end.

Ozzy is amused with every little thing. So inquisitive. i feel like he is taking in the world.

update. (15 months)

Ozzy still only has 5 teeth but somehow has had 6 haircuts.

he loves watermelon. (all fruit i should say)

he is fascinated with keys and tries to unlock anything and everything with them.

to his dad's request he has been working hard at the push bike. but is mostly just spinning the wheels.

I love that he flirts with any and every lady he sees. He turns his head to the side and gives a little smile.

he melts hearts. and i love him.

I actually really like the hair cut, just a small fashion mullet. It's summer, we have been camping in the van, going to carnivals, running through sprinklers, slurping some watermelon.

I mean who wouldn't have a mullet.

This last weekend Ozzy and I met Justin as he was coming from the Teva Mountain Games, for a little weekend trip to Bryce Canyon. We met in Richfield and had a great time with Aunt Holly and Grandma Great..

Neither I or Justin had ever visited Bryce Canyon so we headed there to take a hike and see what we could with one day.. It was amazing! Ozzy did so well in the back pack, it was our first hike with him and he was soo good. He loved it!

For our last last day, Justin had planned for us to hike to a waterfall that he did when he was a kid. It was just outside of Escalante, called Calf Creek. It was beautiful. It really reminded me of the waterfalls that we see on the river. I would definitely go back.... After coming back I found out that I had been there almost exactly 28 years ago.. when I was exactly Ozzy's age.

I think this is pretty magnificent. My dad and I, and Ozzy and his dad..

We spent the weekend with Justin in Grand Junction at the

Ranchstyle Mountain Bike Festival

Ozzy loved, loved, loved

the warm weather, the dirt, the crazy people, the crowd screaming and cheering

being outside all day, and surprisingly he did really well sleeping in his very own little tent (in the van)

How happy we are that he likes being outside, dirt, and a camping trip in the van.

There's no doubt there will be many more!

Ozzy has been walking for about 2 weeks.. he likes to play chase, you chase him then he chases you.

He usually gets really excited and laughs and laughs.. and even tries to run. This time he really tried to run, the poor kid tripped and his head met the corner of my suitcase that was on the floor.

The doctor told us he needed stitches, the saddest part was when they had to put him in something similar to a straight jacket so that he wouldn't move. I lost it, I couldn't even watch, even better I almost fainted when he was screaming from the nurse jamming numbing cream in the poor guys cut.

Justin had to hold his head while they stitched him up. I sat across the room trying to keep it together, while listening to him whale and scream and watching his little toes curl up from anger.

I have to admit though he was a real tough little boy.

They don't seem to bother him. Justin says that he is now a "real man"and I agree he does look pretty tough. We go tomorrow to get them out.. I wish both of us good luck!

Justin informed me that this blog was turning into a shrine of Ozzy pictures and

i was turning into that mom that forgot about her husband and only talks about her baby...

ON THAT NOTE... (and well deserved)

My most amazing husband, has been extremely busy, in a good way.. he is working hard to pay the bills.

just to mention of few of the spectacular things..

* he was featured on the website Vital Mtb.. where he did a recap with voice over and pictures.

(you should check in out here if you haven't, it's really cool but I'm pretty bias!)

* he has been doing some really cool pictures and videos for the canyons ski resort.

* he just returned from Thailand were he was doing some corporate video for Monavie.

His summer is booked from Job to Job but I couldn't be more happier for him, he is really doing what he loves. The hard work is finally paying off. Good work babe! You make us proud!

Off to California we went. sick and all.

Ozzy did great on the plane, he loved the window was thrilled by the clouds.

We stayed with Natalie and her family, she has adorable children.

All alike and different in their own way.

Baby K was blessed and how lucky we were to be there on that special day.

The weather was "misty" yes a rainy mist. and sunny in and out.

we went for walks, ate ice cream, and blew bubbles

on Luch's Birthday they have fun activities for children.

Ozzy was thrown to the ground, but still held his own. (that's my boy!)

It was so fun to be with the family, love you Nat and miss you already!

this week was great.. we are getting spring fever.. i know don't get too excited because it's suppose to storm this weekend. But that's okay too. we like the snow.

we went for walks, up the canyon and also to the mailbox.

( on a side note.. i hate that my mailbox is down the street, right?

when you own the house shouldn't that come with it. the mailbox in the front?? yeah i thought so too! but ozzy likes the walks so i guess it okay.)

my valentines couldn't have been any better, ozzy and I spent the morning with some good friends decorating some delicious sugar cookies.. ( thanks ashley! )

This week was a busy one. i think that we had something going every night.

one half of me is so glad that it's over and the other is a little sad.

i saw lots of good friends. crazy silly friends.. kelly pyne prego.. i'm so excited for her little miracle baby.

it was a surprise shower, and it was a lot of fun to catch up with some friends i

haven't seen in a long time.

i also helped through a shower for jaime (top row 2 over)

she is having twins. a boy and a girl. i know, she looks awesome right? she only has 5 weeks left.

she is such a trooper too, no complaints.. ever!

we also had the chance to go to the temple with the olsen family.

I believe that everyday the things that I am thankful for change. I guess it depends on the day. But there's not a day that goes by that I don't feel so lucky to have such a awesome life! the summer is definitely over and things around are house feel like they are slowing down. ( but are they ever slow with a 6 month old?)

i am back teaching, but just part-time and I love it! the rest of the time is with ozzy and i wouldn't trade it for anything.

justin has been so busy this summer, he has been working so hard, and i couldn't be happier for him. i really admire him for continuing to support our family and at the same time pursue his dream job, i love that he is doing it! and things really are working out for him.
let me just mention a few of his accomplishments if i may....

* he has had a article in every decline magazine this summer. (some he even wrote)

* he has the cover shot for the haro catalog.

* he has been invited to some private shoots with some pretty big riders

*** and lots more look at his blog

So let me just tell you how amazing of a husband i have.. besides all the hard work he has been doing

he has even managed to fix up the yard.. he planted flowers, trees, pulled weeds,
put mulch in.. planted grass. and on top of that he has been mr. mom while i am at work.
he's pretty much amazing!
it just gets better now that fall is here..

i never thought that this experience of motherhood would be so amazing. but with the cutest kid, how could you not love something so much.

they tell you that they grow up fast, but i can't believe really how fast it flies on bye. Ozzy has just turned 6 months old and has conquered some pretty astonishing things. Just to name a few... mastered the roll over.. is now eating solids.. has flown on a airplane.. and of course... a haircut! he is still as laid back as they come. and i am so happy that he belongs to me.

School's out for Summer

So not only has this month flown by but this year. I am done teaching my fist year of little second graders. I didn't expect to be so attached to those little ones, somewhat of a bitter sweet.

Speaking of sweet Ozzy is now two and a half months and getting so big. But actually is still very small. When we went for his 2 month check up he is in the 10th percentile all across the boards. Small but proportional.

The days seem to fly by and I have been horrible at letting my husband know how much I appreciate him and proud I am of him. I do admit that I have been giving almost all my attention to the new little guy. Justin has been working so hard on the new house, he pretty much remolded our whole upstairs in 3 weeks so we could move in before the baby came, and it hasn't stopped, fixing up the yard to hanging curtain rods, and even being Mr. MOM while I went back to work for the last two weeks.

and... he has been doing some really sweet things with work, traveling 3600 miles from Colorado, California and Oregon. To shoot Mt. Biking videos and pictures you should check them out on his blog. He is pretty amazing!

p.s. We took Ozzy to St. George last weekend to ride bikes. He was awesome, cheers to many more!

I feel like there is so much that I have missed that I can't even start.... So no catching up will happen we will start from right here. this is me now.. feeling very large and ever so growing. 31 weeks have gone by and only 9 more to go, the doctors have told us that the baby is healthy and i am healthy.. no complaints here.

the busy season of the holidays really never ended. teaching. new house. justin working. finding new, new house. loan. teaching. baby moving. new house waiting. and just the going, going of day to day. life is great.

First things first I really have to brag about Justin, his work has been paying off, Big Time! And I am so happy for him, he really is doing what he loves and making it happen. He has an article out in the August Issue of Decline Magazine. If your not familiar it is a really big Mt. Biking magazine. I'm so proud!

He also has a picture in this issue of Snowboard Magazine. It has all the newest Boards, Boots, and Binding. His picture is an advertisement for Never Summer Snowboards. If you find yourself browsing the magazine sections.. You should check it out.

P.s. I managed to make it through the first week of teaching...
P.s.s Whistler trip was all and more than I hoped for... Especially because of these people.

I can't quit smiling, I guess that we must be doing something right. I feel so incredibly blessed, I have been quite stressed thinking about how I was going to find a job when I am only home from the river for the weekends. The demand for teachers in Utah has changed a bit this year, I believe because the economy and how the world is taking a turn, many teachers are holding on to their jobs, their isn't as big of a turnover rate as usual. So I really feel even more blessed that I have been given a teaching position at Pony Express Elementary in 2nd grade. I really can't wait! I'm completely thrilled! Me a teacher, CRAZY I know!

There have been many events that have happened in the month away from blogging. Here they are in shortened version.

1st and foremost......

- I FINISHED student teaching.. done, finishito! I graduate May 1st! Hip Hooray! This is me being really, really happy.

- Justin has been really busy with the Canyons and was hired by Snowboarder Mag to be head photog at a comp. at Park City! And he did an amazing job, you can check his pics out here

- We are going back to the Grand, our first trip is May 4th

- Andrea had a healthy baby boy, Wynston Roy Gunnell

- We have been spending a lot of time snowboarding

- Valentines was spent with a night out to Chef's Table compliments to Pay America

- The new van is up and running ready to take us on exciting bike trips

- Justin recently went to Japan for work

- I eat meat, I know 2 whole years without it and I have been consuming almost a full cow every week

- I have no job and it's really weird

So hope that we will be around a little more this month. I've missed you.

This is Natalie.. (and baby Luci) There are a few reasons that I am going to tell you about Natalie.. Yes, it was her BIRTHDAY and I wanted to wish her a happy happy day. But I want to tell you how amazing my sister is..

Natalie is the sister that is just older than me and we had our days of arguing, throwing brushes and little girl tiffs. But Natalie is also one of my sisters that can give the most amazing advice about anything. We spent many nights talking about life and what to do about it.

Natalie has a way of rolling with the punches, she was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago and hasn't stopped sharing her story, she has also started a Cancer Foundation.

She has been asked to speak to people all over the world about overcoming obstacles, she has this amazing way of looking at life though nothing is going to stop her from making the next day better than the last.

Nat I love you and I think you have talents that many would die for.

So this place Nickle Cade dates way back into mine and Justin's

relationship. We visited this place on maybe our third or fourth date

and the story is that I really didn't spend much time

with justin he was playing Mortal Combat the entire night. I'm sure if you know Justin at all this is not shocking information,

It was getting late and I guess he was at the point of almost beating the game and only needed

one more nickle

I lied and said I didn't have anymore just so we could leave.

Then feeling bad I told him when we got in the car

yeah, if you can imagine

Justin was pretty upset.. We laugh about it now.

We revisited and nothings changed. These hands are glued to the game.

Today it was cowboy church in Heber. It really was somethin special, there is somethin about cowboy boots and fancy dresses and fiddlers singing bout riding and fallin that really gets me. I love love loved it.

This is my favorite brother and my only brother.
I so vividly remember when you would pin me down and practically spit in my face, or the many times you thought it was so funny that you could steal the remote or the other many times that you teased me until I would cry and when I went to call mom, you were there on the phone asking me what I was doing. Or the times that you would clap really really loud in my ear and i'm sure that I have permanent bruises on my thighs from you grabbing them so hard. I've never been given a better nick name than "squeeze rat"...
But I love you for all these pleasant cruelties, i wouldn't be who i am today!

I also love you for who you are.. for being not only the best bother to three sisters but an amazing father and a loving husband..( i guess you would have to ask Andrea) I look up to you for following your dreams, for doing what you love and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is jealous of how good you are.. So to many of you this may look familiar..(if your anything like me and drive on the freeway everyday and tend to look at every billboard to pass time) Yes I see it pretty much everyday as I'm cruising on the freeway for work.. Justin took this picture and Timpanogos Cyclery bought the rights to it and made a billboard out of it. If you look really really close on the left bottom corner you can see " photo taken by Justin Olsen" I think that justin got cheated out of the credit for an awesome shot.. So I will do my best to let everyone know! So next time you are heading north on I-15 look for this picture it is between the Lindon and Pleasant Grove exit.. Nice work babe!

Justin and I just returned from our first trip guiding together in the Grand Canyon, I guess you could say that we made it ( or I made it) in one piece besides the cut on my face and the plethora of bruises i received.. The trip was everything and more! The rapids were awesome and the scenery was even better! I am know begging to realize why my husband can't get way from this summer job! Here are some pics that really don't do it justice! We had so much fun!
But sad to say he left today back for another trip I will be sitting this one out and wishing I was there!

So I've come to the realization that there are many girls( or I should say people) that would like to be good at photography.. Me being one of them I have asked my amazing husband to teach me this is our conversation..

Me: Justin I really want you to teach me some things about this camera and just some basic knowledge to start me off..
Justin: You need to find that old film camera that your parents have and I will teach you but you have to start with film.
Me: Why you have and extra digital body that I could use..
Justin: It's like this, I am Mr. Miyagi and you are Daniel son.. you start with film..
( so I guess that my husband is aspiring to be Mr. Miyagi)
So I haven't got the film camera yet, but I have been taking some pictures with the digital.. And yes I think that everyone should start with film! So today I went and took some randoms..

This is my club volleyball team that I have been coaching sense December.. Yes they are ages 14-16 and every single one of them is taller than me (sad I really look 15). So volleyball is over and I definitely have a LOVE HATE relationship with it! This was at our sweet end of the season BBQ. Good Times!

So this last week was quite an adventure... Justin and I loaded the van and drove to Grand Junction for the weekend. It was the Fat Tire Festival in fruita and there was a bike jump contest that Justin really wanted to enter. Well we got there a little late and Justin didn't get into the competition, he was pretty bummed I give him props for even wanting to enter! So we rode bikes all weekend and then headed to Moab. I had to take a WIlderness First Responder class all week and Justin was able to ride bikes and hang with me at night. We were able to hang out with some river friends and just relax.. I really do love Moab! I feel really bad but these were the only pictures that I took. Justin let me shoot the camera what do you think?? I think that we would make a great photo team!

Sea Otter Classic 2008

Well I spent last weekend in Monterey, California shooting photos at the Sea Otter Classic. Its one of the biggest bike expo/race/events in the country. All in all it was a good time, other than the stitches and broken arm my buddy phil received.. This is a shot I took that I sold to Lizard Skins.. Here is a pic from the provo half marathon a couple weeks ago.. It was stephs first half marathon! She ran like the wind... Steph and my sister whitney and her bof kip all ran and I hung out at the finish line and ate donuts. It was great.

I have to give a little shout out for my new motivation.. If you have a nano or shuffle and need some new motivation to start running this is the best thing ever.. If you are training for something or just really like to know how far you are running or how many calories and how fast your running, this does it all and also keeps track of it on the website for you.. If you are anything like me and need that instant gratification it really has given me serious motivation! So we just got back from the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho, I saw that steph put up a post about that so I thought I would put up a couple of pictures. This is the hut we were in, and the group that went. It was a blast. We had some unbelievable powder lines... We did have one close call with an avalanche (jordan gave birth to one but was able to out run it...sketchy). Needless to say, 4 days of hiking and skiing with ten sweaty dudes, living together in the hut, with all of their wet gear and boots, made for a very interesting aroma..
If you want to see more shots I will putting some up on my photo blog, also we shot a bunch of HD footage so maybe I will post some video too.
It's nice to be home..

So I will confess that I'm sure a lot of people have given up hope on the blog.. I'm sure you randomly check it out to see if the picture at the top has changed, well it has so I hope that now I'm back on the frequent blog checking list and off the slacker list... I feel like because I don't have kids or even a dog I post a lot of pictures of my husband... well here is another, justin left on Sunday to Idaho to do some backcountry snowboarding.. He was hiking in about 6 miles with 10 buddies to stay in a yurt for 5 days and eat like kings.. He is pulling in all of his camera gear( just a meager 50lbs) on a sled behind him to document the whole thing.. What a bunch of adventurists.. I love it!

Well I realized a life long dream a couple of nights ago, I got to meet Slash from Guns and Roses! I filming a band called "Anvil" for PCTV's day in the life segment, and they put on a private "invite only" show. Anvil was a big metal band in the 80's, they sold millions of albums, inspired people in every band from Metallica to Slayer, but for some reason never made it huge in the mainstream.. They are still playing and now someone has made a documentary film about them that is screening at Sundance. Anyway, for the last song Slash and Scott Ian from Anthrax came out on stage and played with them! I got video of the whole thing, and will post it once it is editied. This shot is a frame grab from the video.

I have to brag a little about my amazing husband.. Justin is working for Park City TV doing video for the Sundance Film Festival.. He has been doing " a day in the life of..." and he follows actors( Kevin Bacon) or directors around for the day and makes a five minute clip that is shown on Park City T.V. If any of you want to check it out they are on between 9 and 10am! I think your amazing Justin and I am really proud of you and your hard work! Love you!

So i will now apologize for being such a slacker on the blog posts.. i know its bad!.. We have had some great adventures to start the new year.. We spent new years eve and day at Alta and went skiing and yes, I was a first timer at the skis besides the bruse on my bottom, I really enjoyed it.. Then just a week later we were off to New York! It was exciting, it was the first time that justin and I had ever been to the big city lets just say that we did plenty of go, go, go! We went to Late Night with Conan, Wicked, Mary Poppins the Museum of Modern Art, Central Park, A sweet helicoptor ride over the city and out to the Statue of Liberty, and of course shopping in between. There was alot of B&H and H&M for both of us! So enjoy the compolation of pics!
